A Blue New Deal

I'm delighted to announce that my book A Blue New Deal: Why We Need A New Politics for the Ocean will be published by Yale University Press. It will provide a systematic introduction to the demands of justice on a planet dependent on its ocean for life and livelihood. How can we govern the ocean fairly and sustainably? How can we head off the twin challenges of environmental destruction and spiralling inequality in the ocean economy? This book will aim to show the path forward. It will be accessible to both academics and a general audience concerned with the future of the blue seven-tenths of our planet.
